Thanks for the walk-through. Here’s the part I don’t get: How does one connect VS to TFS from a remote computer (i.e., a laptop)? Since setup uses the machine name for the URL, I don’t understand what to configure so I have valid values to enter during the “Add a Team Foundation Server” in the “Connect to Team Foundation Server” process in Visual Studio.

What are the advantages and disadvantages to installing SharePoint or not? You skipped it because your test install was for the LAB, but would you miss not having this feature?

    Let me know

    Thanks,
    Chris

I’m using Virtualbox to install Windows server 2012 & inside that I’ll install TFS.
Can I install Visual Studio in Windows 10 (host) & then use “http://ServerName:8080/tfs/” to connect to TFS?
